audio drama and sound installation at the festival OPEN HOUSE GDAŃSK
What sins can be confessed at a laundry? How can you repair your own washing machine? In what cases does a laundry worker tear off a number before returning the garment to the customer?
“Washed Dreams” is a story sewn together from pieces of various fabrics and objects found in the inside pockets of jackets. It was a drum-washing machine-musical installation based on a book (written but not yet published) by Dominik Kasicki. The voice actors are: Elżbieta Pikiewicz and Kamil Ambrosiewicz. I was responsible for editing, sound design and recording. Together we also created the scenography, which helped visitors enter the world of the story. Festival partcipants could take part in a fabric quiz, see the lost objetcs found in jacket pockets, or take a look inside the washing machine drum.
The installation was shown at the OPEN HOUSE GDAŃSK festival on Friday and Saturday in Pralnia EBS – Gdańsk Galeria Zaspa, Aleja Rzeczypospolitej 33.
